Natural Resources Wales has launched a home-heating benefit scheme for its employees.

The organisation, which is responsible for the sustainable management of natural resources, has partnered with Heat Scheme to give its 1,900 employees access to one-to-one consultations, and heating efficiency and home improvement work.

The scheme will provide consultancy and services that will help employees reduce their home heating bills and reduce their carbon footprint.

Through the scheme, Natural Resources Wales will be able to roll out interest-free loans and grants for staff to implement green home improvements. These include measures for heating and energy efficiency such as insulation checks, smart controls and heat pump support. Employees will also be able to access preventive care for boilers, plumbing, electrics, roof and windows, and home Improvements and upgrades for windows and doors, ventilation, comfort fixes, and modernisation.

The scheme also helps staff make green and low-carbon changes such as switching to solar, batteries, low-emission heating, and renewable tariffs.

Clive Walmsley, senior specialist advisor for climate change and decarbonisation at Natural Resources Wales, said: “The new service will not only offer staff expert advice to potentially reduce their home energy use and save money but also help contribute ultimately to Natural Resources Wales being able to demonstrate reduced home-working emissions.”
