NHS Professionals, Clear Bank, advertising and public relations agency Havas and asset management firm Schroders have signed up to a home heating employee benefit scheme.
The benefit, which is provided by home improvement consultancy Heat Scheme, will give their employees access to one-to-one consultations, heating efficiency assessments and training webinars through an online portal. The aim of these is to help them reduce emissions at home, reduce heat loss and costs, optimise energy consumption, improve the resilience of their homes and reduce their carbon footprint.
The scheme also allows employers to roll out interest-free loans and grants to staff for free green home improvements, such as green retrofits and heat pumps. It can also support employers’ corporate pledges for climate protection and reaching net zero, and employee wellbeing, by reducing staff emissions and heating bills.
Dan Perfect, head of procurement and environmental, social and governance for NHS Professionals, said: “As an organisation, we always encourage our staff to reduce carbon emissions where possible. Heating and hot water usage at home generate a significant percentage of emissions and so supporting our people to switch to clean energy through Heat Scheme is the right thing to do.”
