Something for the weekend: Have you ever fancied working for the most famous family in Britain? If the answer is yes, then we have the role for you!

The Royal Household has begun its search for a senior correspondence officer for King Charles, with excellent communication skills to respond to letters addressed to the Monarch and Royal Family from the general public.

Advertised on LinkedIn, the on-site role pays £32,000 per annum. The successful applicant will be required to work as part of the correspondence team to ensure every letter received is responded to in a timely and well-composed manner. They will need to draft bespoke responses that answer varying, and often unique, queries, covering social, community and national matters.

The Royal Household is looking for applicants who are natural team players and can remain focused while processing a large number of letters. They will be working to provide vision, leadership and direction to support the department’s overall goals.

The role is advertised with a non-contributory pension plan, into which the household contributes 15%, as well as 25-30 days of annual leave, along with bank holidays. Employees can enjoy a complimentary lunch on-site, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, and physical and mental wellbeing benefits.

Also on offer is parental pay and leave, volunteering days, 20% off at the Royal Collection Trust Shops, complimentary admission tickets across all Royal locations, and additional employee discounts.

The advert stated: “A capable and experienced administrator, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. As a proven leader, you motivate and develop a team to deliver to a consistently high standard. Well-organised in your approach to work, you’ll be capable of processing a large volume of correspondence to meet regular deadlines.

“Proactive with lots of initiative, you’ll be confident drafting letters and will also have strong IT skills that you’ll be able to adapt to bespoke systems. Possessing a keen eye for detail, you’ll always deliver work with faultless accuracy. Above all, you will enjoy working collaboratively with your team, learning from those around you, and contributing to the success of the department.”

Sounds like an interesting job with some great perks. Get out your fanciest pen and practice your handwriting before applying!
