Currys rolls out workplace health platform

Currys Technology products and services retailer Currys has introduced a workplace health platform in order to support and improve the wellbeing of its employees.

The business has given its more than 15,000 members of staff across the UK and Ireland free access to a platform provided by Champion Health. They can also gift access to it to up to three family members or friends of their choosing.

Every Currys employee has been given access to their own health report, which includes a snapshot of their overall health and a tailored wellbeing action plan. The platform then recommends content based on health results, such as workouts, mindfulness sessions, expert-led masterclasses, nutrition plans, sleep stories, women’s and men’s health, financial wellbeing, parenting, musculoskeletal health, cardiovascular health, cognitive functioning and more.

Paula Coughlan, chief people, communications and sustainability officer at Currys, said: “We know that the cost-of-living crisis will have an impact on wellbeing, and on top of our existing package of support which includes direct financial support, financial wellbeing, 1,400 mental health trained colleagues and our wellbeing corner, this partnership delivers on our promise to support colleagues further.

“The platform will give everyone support across all the key areas of wellbeing, helping colleagues to be at their very best both inside and outside of work.”

Steve Bird, wellbeing manager at Currys, added: “I am so proud to work for an organisation that continues to invest in the wellbeing of its people. I’ve found wellbeing apps and platforms incredibly useful, but the subscriptions beyond free trial periods can really add up. Champion Health is free to access, and I can’t wait for thousands of colleagues and their loved ones to benefit from all the great content, especially the mental wellbeing support which has such a big impact on wellbeing as a whole.”
