Royal Household to recruit castle-based housekeeping assistant

Royal HouseholdSomething for the weekend: If you’re planning on spending the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holidays next week looking for a new role, or if you’ve ever fancied the chance at managing a royal household, then you’re in luck, as the Royal Household is on the hunt for a housekeeping assistant at either Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.

The 40-hours a week job pays £7.97 per hour after the salary adjustment for accommodation if you choose to live on-site, and also offers 33 days holiday allowance that includes bank holidays. Also on offer is a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, with the option for flexibility to increase contributions or draw down as salary. The role also includes meals while on duty.

According to the advert, the ideal candidate need not have previous housekeeping or hospitality experience, although this would be an advantage, as they will be provided with development and training. So, with some enthusiasm and interest in hospitality, you may be in with a chance to get your post delivered to a palace or castle.

Candidates have been given until 19 June to apply, with interviews set to take place the following month.
