Yorkshire Water has appointed Vikki Gledhill as its new head of reward and pensions.
In her new role, Gledhill will be responsible for the organisation’s total rewards strategy, which includes shaping a competitive compensation strategy, introducing an engaging recognition scheme, aligning rewards with business goals, creating a compelling total reward offering, and strengthening governance and pay transparency.
Gledhill joins Yorkshire Water with 26 years of experience in human resources from a range of industries, including automotives, airports and food. She previously held the position of senior director of international total rewards at Cox Automotive, a division of Cox Enterprises, which employs nearly 50,000 people internationally. Prior to that, she was head of reward at Manchester Airport Group.
Her career began in 1999 as a HR administrator at Fox’s Biscuits, where she remained for many years. Her first reward role was in 2008, when she was appointed group policy and reward advisor for Northern Foods.
Gledhill said: “I’m very excited about the opportunities to make a difference in the reward space at Yorkshire Water. A vital element of my role will be looking at how we engage the workforce better in the overall reward offering and making sure that staff are aware of everything that is on offer to them. I always see it as a marketing campaign to employees and an opportunity to retain talent within the business by offering a tailored and compelling total reward package.
“I’m learning what the challenges are and the aim is to bring in or maintain key elements that are important to our employees, making the offering flexible enough so that anyone can personalise the benefits they take advantage of, depending on where they are in their life cycle. I’m really excited about what can be achieved.”
