Mortgage broker software solutions firm Mortgage Brain has signed the mortgage industry mental health charter and reinstated its Summer Fridays perk.
Through the charter, the organisation will have access to best practice health and wellbeing guidelines, and related guidance, hints, tips and a framework, so it can embrace and tailor bespoke services to best support its staff. According to Mortgage Brain, by signing it has demonstrated its ongoing dedication to supporting employees’ mental health and overall wellbeing as well as its commitment to fostering a supportive, healthy, and inclusive work environment.
In addition, the organisation has reinstated its Summer Fridays perk, which enables employees to finish for the week at lunchtime on Fridays throughout July and August. It decided to do this in order to show staff that they are valued and their hard work is appreciated.
These two initiatives are intended to demonstrate its continuing prioritisation of employee mental health and wellbeing, as well as its firm belief that a happy and healthy workforce leads to better service, productivity and innovation.
Pollyanna Puddephat, head of marketing at Mortgage Brain, said: “As a leading player in our industry, we acknowledge the responsibility we bear, not just to our clients, but also to our hardworking team. As an industry, it’s crucial that we acknowledge and address the struggles many individuals around us face, be it burnout, stress, or poor mental health. These challenges have profound implications, not only for the individuals experiencing them but also for the overall health of the mortgage industry.”
“By reinstating Summer Fridays, we want to create an opportunity for our staff to relax, recharge, and enjoy their summer weekends even more, whether they choose a quiet garden snooze or adventures with friends and family. By taking care of one another, we are taking care of our businesses, because a supported and mentally healthy workforce is the foundation of a thriving and successful business.”
