Financial services group Manulife has named Pragashini Fox as its new chief people officer from 1 June 2025.

Fox will succeed chief human resources officer Pam Kimmet, who will retire at the end of May next year. As part of a transitional period, Fox will join on 13 January. As well as connecting with the global team, she will lead a range of planned initiatives related to the group’s culture and talent agenda.

Fox joins from Thomson Reuters, where she has worked for the past six years as both head of talent and diversity, and head of HR for product, operations, and technology. She previously spent 18 years with Royal Bank of Canada in various leadership roles in executive compensation, talent management and leadership development. She held the role of head of HR for technology, as well as HR roles supporting operations, capital markets, insurance, and group functions.

Kimmet has held the role of chief human resources officer since October 2018 and helped to create a culture that is foundational to the firm’s success. She and her team have launched a range of programmes and made strides in advancing inclusion, which helped improve engagement for the group over the past several years.

Roy Gori, president and chief executive officer of Manulife, said: “Pragashini’s experience, global orientation, digital expertise, strong business acumen, and appreciation for the work we do make her an ideal successor for Pam. She has a passion for helping global teams embrace a growth-mindset and foster the tenacity and resilience to reach for new heights. She will be based in Toronto, where she and her family currently reside. I want to thank Pam for her support, friendship, and dedication to helping transform Manulife over the last several years.
