XPO Logistics, a provider of sustainable end-to-end logistics solutions across Europe, has enhanced its maternity benefits for soon-to-be and new parents based in the UK.
After two years' service, employees will be entitled to the first six weeks of maternity leave paid at 90% of their weekly average earnings, with the following 20 weeks paid at 80% of their basic pay and allowances, including statutory maternity pay. The remaining 13 weeks will be paid at the government statutory rate, or 90% of their average weekly earnings, depending on which is lower.
Through this initiative, the organisation’s staff will receive a higher amount than the government’s statutory maternity pay for an extended period. The aim is to help the organisation’s new parents worry less about their finances and to boost its leadership position in family policies in the transportation and logistics sector.
Lynn Brown, vice president of human resources – UK and Ireland at XPO Logistics, said: “We are proud to be leading the way in our industry on maternity and adoption pay, in addition to other family-friendly policies we have recently implemented and enhanced. This further demonstrates our desire to create a truly inclusive workforce that supports employees during key times in their lives.”
XPO also offers employees 25 days holiday a year including bank holidays, the option to buy additional days, access to a variety of high street discounts, a bikes-for-work scheme, a workplace pension, flexible working, bereavement leave, an employee assistance programme, and health, life, dental, vision, long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
Last month, it rolled out neurodiversity champion training to its staff as part of its commitment to encouraging an inclusive environment, raising awareness, and creating and driving any necessary changes across the business.
