Something for the weekend: Luxury private travel club Velloy has begun its search for a luxury room service reviewer to travel around the globe evaluating room service options at prestigious hotels.
The successful applicant’s responsibilities will include assessing the efficiency and time of room service delivery, analysing the variety and quality of food offered across different meals, evaluating hotels’ ability to cater to dietary needs, and reviewing the value of cost for each meal. They will then be required to provide written reviews and photos of meals eaten at each hotel visited and submit these to Velloy’s website and group forums.
The salary for the flexible role is £50,000 a year, and the employee will be required to visit and review food at a minimum of four hotels a month.
Additional perks include first-class travel to various global destinations, complimentary stays in luxury hotels, food and drink expenses, and extra cash to explore the destination. One guest will be permitted to taste room service offerings with them.
While no qualifications are required, candidates should have a love of food, travel and the finer things in life, be able to communicate through high-quality blog posts and photographs, be over the age of 21, have an up-to-date passport and be fluent in English.
Although the role is open to those with dietary requirements and allergies, the job description states that applicants must not be picky eaters, as they will be required to review a range of meals.
The application deadline is 9 May, with the successful applicant expected to start later that month.
Hugo Cannon, founder of Velloy, said: “The perfect candidate will be able to indulge in the epitome of luxury while helping us ensure our members get the best insider tips for their stays in our partner hotels all over the world. Ordering food to a hotel room, whether it’s breakfast in bed as a holiday treat or a late-night necessity on work trips, is a luxury that many of our clients seek. Therefore, hiring an expert to meticulously review room service offerings is crucial, as we aim to ensure that the room service food is as five star as the hotels we partner with.”
This sounds like a fabulous opportunity for anyone with a taste for luxury and fine foods!
