Communications organisation Publicis Groupe UK has implemented family-centered workplace policies for its employees spanning maternity, paternity and shared parental leave, as well as adoption, surrogacy, fertility and pregnancy loss.
The introduction of these will be supported by a training and education program aimed at employees and managers. They are the latest in a line of Publicis Groupe UK initiatives designed to support employees and ensure that people can progress regardless of their background or circumstances, and will be available to employees and candidates during the recruitment process.
The policies offer 26 weeks of full pay for pregnancy, adoption, surrogacy and shared parental leave, with employees able to take a gradual approach to their return during the first month back on full pay, through a phased return to work policy. Staff will also be able to take four weeks of full pay for paternity or second parent leave.
Additionally, the organisation is offering up to 10 days of paid leave for anyone going through fertility treatment and for a supporting partner. Staff can take up to four weeks of paid leave for anyone experiencing pregnancy loss, up to 10 days of paid leave for the partner affected, and two days of leave for an employee supporting a family member experiencing pregnancy loss.
The business has also introduced a menopause policy and the Publicis Groupe UK Behavioural Charter, which outlines the inclusive behaviours expected of all employees. Later this year, it plans to continue this by introducing policies in support of disability and trans inclusion.
Annette King, chief executive officer of Publicis Groupe UK, explained that as the company emerges from the pandemic, it has a responsibility to build back better.
