EXCLUSIVE: Private healthcare marketing organisation Digital Catalyst is to take its staff to Ibiza for a three-day holiday to boost employee engagement and motivation, and help increase teamwork within the business.
The employer-funded trip, which will take place on Friday 12 to Sunday 14 May 2017, will give staff the opportunity to network informally, as well as meet colleagues from across the organisation’s locations in the UK and Spain.
Digital Catalyst is covering all costs for the trip, including flights and accommodation at an all-inclusive hotel in Playa d’en Bossa, which includes all food and drink.
Employees were given the opportunity to select the final destination of the holiday from a provided shortlist.
The staff holiday forms part of the organisation’s employee engagement strategy, and aims to boost morale, encourage engagement with the business, and foster a caring organisational culture.
Other employee engagement measures in place at the organisation, which employs seven staff members, include team lunches, home-working arrangements, and flexible working hours.
The organisation has held staff holidays before, taking teams to Lanzarote and Ibiza in previous years. The last trip took place in the summer of 2015, and Digital Catalyst plans to make the staff holiday an annual event moving forward.
Dhairaj Mighlani, director at Digital Catalyst, said: “When you have [an organisation] where people are distributed in different countries, then it’s better to have them [meet] each other face to face.
"We’re going to go and have some good times. [Staff] know they are in [an organisation] where they are looked after well so they come back [from the trip] motivated to do some good work.”
