Telecommunication firm Vodafone has received fertility-friendly employer accreditation.

The accreditation, which has been awarded by Fertility Matters at Work, highlights Vodafone’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace, and to supporting employees through every stage of their lives, including those navigating fertility issues.

Vodafone was recognised due to its internal, online community called Fertility Friends, which it launched to raise awareness, share experiences, and support staff at any stage in their fertility journey, as well as help managers know how to assist individuals.

The firm also introduced a Fertility Support Hub, which is a dedicated centralised platform that hosts fertility information and resources. It also includes access to Fertility Buddies, a volunteer network of employees with lived experience who offer confidential peer support, as well as organisation policies and guidance.

Furthermore, the Fertility Support Hub offers tailored guidance and e-learning modules for line managers, to equip them with the tools and confidence to support their teams.

In addition, Vodafone employees can access fertility awareness and support via educational tools, webinars and workshops through its partnership with Fertility Matters at Work.

Nicki Lyons, chief corporate affairs and sustainability officer at Vodafone, said: “We are incredibly proud to be the first employer in telecoms to receive fertility-friendly accreditation from Fertility Matters at Work. At Vodafone, we believe that supporting our people through life’s most personal and complex journeys is not just the right thing to do, it’s essential to building a truly inclusive and compassionate workplace. This recognition reflects the steps we’ve taken to listen, learn and act, and we’re especially grateful for expert guidance in helping us create a workplace where fertility is openly supported.”
