Mastercard and Google rank among best workplaces for 2023

Best Places to Work

Technology firm Google and financial services business Mastercard were among those named on the UK’s Best Places to Work list for 2023, put together by Glassdoor.

The top three employers on the list were management consultancies Bain and Company and Boston Consulting Group, and software firm ServiceNow.

Glassdoor compiled the ninth annual list from thousands of reviews posted online between 19 October 2021 and 17 October 2022, recognising the best 50 employers with 1,000 or more employees. The reviewers ranked workplace factors such as diversity and inclusion, compensations and benefits, culture and values, and work-life balance.

The ratings were based on a five-point scale, with 1.0 being very dissatisfied, 3.0 being OK, and 5.0 being very satisfied.

The majority (91%) of Bain and Company employees said they would recommend the business to a friend, and 96% approved of its chief executive officer (CEO).

Meanwhile, 91% of ServiceNow staff would recommend the organisation to a friend and 97% of the workforce approved of the CEO.
