PEOPLE

I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of working from home. Pets demanding attention, the postman interrupting importing calls, your favourite past time becomes staring into the fridge, sound about right? Unless you are one of the lucky ones that have a beautifully designed home office with no interruptions, then you’re allowed to moan! It’s honestly no fun sitting at a makeshift desk, on an uncomfortable dining room chair that’s doubling up as a desk chair!

So what is the best way to keep you sane and keep up your physical wellbeing whilst working from home?

Keeping hydrated , it sounds ridiculous but keeping hydrated is the biggest key topromoting cardiovascular health and keeping your muscles and joints working better. Aim to drink around eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day to start to feel the benefits.

Fuel the body with the right nutrients! I know it takes willpower to reach for a bag of carrot sticks instead of crisps but it’ll really benefit you in the long run. You need to give your body the right fuel to get you through the day; meal preparation could be your key to success! Your mental and physical wellbeing will reap the benefits…

Move around. Sitting at a desk all day whether at work or working from home can cause worrying health issues. Sitting for too long raises your risk of heart disease, diabetes, strokes and many different types of health risks. Moving throughout the day can bring these risks down to a minimum. Make sure you are keeping active, and your physical wellbeing will definitely improve!

Ensure your desk chair is comfortable. Look after your physical wellbeing, and reduce the health issues related to poor posture! A good office chair reduces back, hip and leg pain associated with sitting down for long periods of time.

Sit eye level to your screen. On average the UK population spends around 9 hours a day staring at a screen. Although this usually can’t be helped for those that work in an office environment, it’s important to have your screen at eye level! This will prevent you from straining your eyesight, and in turn will protect your physical wellbeing.

Your physical wellbeing is so important, especially at this difficult time. You need the strength to get through this, and these top tips will help you!
