Metro Bank has become certified as a Most Loved Workplace due to its commitment to employee experience, engagement and an inclusive culture.
The Most Loved Workplace validation, which was set up and backed by Best Practice Institute (BPI) research and analysis, provides a comprehensive look at workplace sentiment for organisations, offering certification where employees are the happiest and most satisfied at work.
Metro Bank received certification based on its scores on the Love of Workplace Index, which surveys workers on various elements around employee satisfaction and sentiment, including the level of respect, collaboration, support, and sense of belonging they feel inside the organisation.
It scored highly on its systemic collaboration, positive vision of the future, respect, support, alignment of values, practices, the strengths of its chief executive officer, benefits and its response to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
According to the bank, the fact that it enhanced its benefits during the pandemic to reflect changing needs has helped it to be eligible for the certification. It introduced a free meditation app and a health and wellbeing hub of resources that covers mental health, physical health and fitness, financial health and family.
Carol Frost, chief people officer of Metro Bank, said: “I am incredibly proud that Metro Bank has been recognised as a Most Loved Workplace, it is testament to our colleagues’ hard work and engagement that we have such an amazing culture. Collaboration, purpose and the opportunity to really engage with the communities in which we have a presence underpin everything we do.
“Our colleagues have also told us that they feel they can truly be themselves at Metro Bank. We are committed to ensuring that feeling valued remains front and centre for our colleagues through the great work of our vibrant inclusion networks.”
Louis Carter, founder and chief executive of BPI, added: “I started Most Loved Workplaces out of inspiration from my community of people who consciously place love for their employees at the centre of their business model.”
