London-based PR agency Lem-uhn has introduced a workplace policy called Flexible Fridays as part of its commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee wellbeing.
The new policy allows the agency’s employees to choose their working hours on Fridays, enabling them to finish early or work extended hours earlier in the week so they can have a shorter day or a complete day off at the end of the week.
This approach has been designed to give staff the flexibility and freedom of a four-day working week, while making sure someone is covering work on Fridays for clients. It is also intended to offer greater control over employees’ work-life balance, recognising and acknowledging their needs and preferences, and represents its broader mission to challenge traditional work norms and set new standards for care and support.
Riannon Palmer, founder and managing director of Lem-uhn, said: “In our continuous effort to support our team in every possible way, we recognise the need for greater flexibility. The Flexible Friday policy is more than just a benefit, it’s a reflection of our understanding and respect for our employees' personal time and commitments outside of work.
“We believe that by giving our team the freedom to manage their schedules, we’re not only enhancing their job satisfaction but also driving productivity and creativity in our projects. Showing flexibility and empathy in the workplace can lead to a happier, more motivated team and ultimately, greater success for the business.”
Lem-uhn’s other workplace support initiatives include its menstrual, menopause and miscarriage leave policy that provides flexible working and up to 10 days of leave for debilitating periods or menopause symptoms and pregnancy loss, its work from anywhere policy that allows employees to work up to 45 days per year outside the UK, 23 days of annual leave and two wellbeing days.
