Managed transport and accommodation group CMAC is planning to stage a number of employee wellbeing events from Monday (22 March).
The organisation's ‘Time Out Week’ aims to encourage its 150 workers to make time to take breaks, and give them tools to manage their mental health and resilience during lockdown.
Time Out Week activities will include initiatives such as online yoga, mental health awareness sessions and cocktail making. These will compliment initiatives the company has already introduced, such as High Intensity Interval Training (Hiit) exercise sessions which staff can access twice-weekly.
According to CMAC chief executive Peter Slater, the event aims to keep colleagues motivated and engaged during the current tough climate.
He said: “Like many businesses, we have had to find new ways to help our staff stay well and motivated during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. With staff working from home, it’s even more important we put effort into reaching out and interacting in different ways."
Day one of the week will comprise an exercise class, followed by an online session on understanding addiction, mental health risks, triggers and symptoms by wellbeing organisation WHYSUP.
A yoga session will follow mid-week, and the event will be rounded off with live online DJ to get staff feeling motivated for the weekend.
Slater added: “We really hope this great mix of online events will help people try something they may have never done before. It’s also a chance for colleagues to let their hair down and socialise together outside of team stand-ups and cross-functional meetings.”
All the week's activities will be recorded, so staff who are unable to attend them live can access them later.
Time Out Week follows CMAC's ‘Employee Appreciation Day’ on 5 March, where it announced staff would have the day off work on their birthday.
