Employee Benefits’ webinar, Future proofing employees’ financial wellbeing, is now available to watch for free on demand.
The webinar, sponsored by Aviva, was broadcast live at 11am on Tuesday 16 July.
Debbie Lovewell-Tuck, editor of Employee Benefits, was joined by three expert panellists for the in-depth conversation: Laura Stewart-Smith, head of client engagement, workplace at Aviva, Natalie Jutla, employee benefits and employee financial wellbeing lead at Defra – Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Gail Irvine, head of business development and policy at the Living Wage Foundation.
The discussion explored what financial wellbeing means; what the current trends are; how employers have responded to the cost-of-living crisis; and how they can support employees in need and make provisions to secure their future financial wellbeing.
The panel of experts spoke about how employers can ensure they have the basics right to support employees’ financial wellbeing; how to bring financial wellbeing to life and remove barriers to engagement; and how to empower individuals to make small changes that will impact their financial wellbeing.
The panellists also answered questions from attendees, providing thoughtful and useful solutions based on real-life experiences.
Attendees were additionally able to hear how employers can ensure they truly understand employees’ financial wellbeing needs; how to bring financial wellbeing to life beyond engagement barriers; what employers can do to support financial wellbeing outside of pensions; how to prepare for retirement; and how to ensure individuals are comfortable talking about money.
The webinar ended with a discussion about what the next five years is likely to look like in terms of financial wellbeing for employees.
