Amazon, Barclays and BT have been named among the most sought-after workplaces in 2023.

In order to establish the rankings, BusinessNameGenerator.com took a seed list of more than 40 jobs in demand in 2023 from Glassdoor, LinkedIn and Edmissions. These were evaluated and ranked by the average salary, the average number of applicants, search volume data around the role, and the average Glassdoor statistics for employers that hire for a particular job role.

It then used Glassdoor to see the top 10 employers hiring for the 40 job titles and calculated how they scored on employee benefits and diversity, as well as the average business size and their overall Glassdoor rating.

Amazon ranked first in the list, with 20 out of 40 job roles. Primarily an online retailer, the roles offered included business development manager, HR manager and software engineer.

Barclays ranked jointly in second place, with 13 out of 40 job roles. The bank employs a range of roles from customer service manager or assistant, enterprise architect and operations manager. In joint second place is BT, also employing 13 out of 40 of the most desirable job roles. It offers roles such as enterprise architect, finance manager and HR business partner.
