More than 200 offshore Repsol Resources workers have accepted an enhanced pay and conditions offer, ending an ongoing dispute.
The pay agreement covers control room operators, supervisors, electricians, technicians, mechanics and health, safety and environment advisors on Repsol’s Arbroath, AUK, Bleoholm, Claymore, Clyde, Fulmer, Montrose, and Piper Bravo platforms.
The pay deal is worth 8.5% over two years. In 2025/26, the workers will receive a pay rise amounting to 4.5%, and in the following year, due to changes in shift rotation allowances, they will receive a further 4%.
The workers, who are members of trade union Unite, had previously rejected several pay offers that they were unhappy with.
Planned industrial action for 6 August was suspended while members voted on the improved offer. The scheduled strikes on 13 and 28 August and 4 September have been cancelled now the dispute has ended.
Other offshore workers remain in ongoing disputes over jobs, pay and conditions, as 130 China National Offshore Oil Corporation workers are balloted on industrial action in a jobs, pay and conditions dispute on the Buzzard, Scott, and Golden Eagle platforms.
Sharon Graham, general secretary for Unite, said: “Unite has successfully negotiated a significant pay deal for our Repsol members. Let’s be clear that this deal only came about due to our members standing firm and being prepared to take strike action to get a better deal.”
Repsol Resources was contacted for comment prior to publication.
Last December, a new recognition deal for jobs, pay and conditions improvements covering Repsol Resources workers at the Flotta oil terminal in the Orkney Islands was signed. Negotiated through conciliation service Acas, it covers around 40 terminal workers, who are marine and production technicians, control room operators and supervisory roles.
