There are three main ways in which employers manage company car schemes, according to the Employee Benefits/Alphabet Fleet research 2015.
The most popular way is to outsource fleet management completely to a specialist provider, as cited by 35% of respondents. The second most common option is to manage the fleet in-house (used by 32%), while 28% use a combination of the two methods. While they may be considered a mainstay in benefits packages, 55% of fleets have between one and 100 company cars.
Almost half of respondents (49%) offer diesel cars to staff, and 43% use fuel cars for business travel. A third (33%) offer green cars, such as hybrid or electric models.
