Energy provider E.On and leisure club chain David Lloyd Clubs have been named among The Sunday Times’ Best Places to Work in 2025.

The list, which showcases the best places to work in the UK, is compiled based on the results of an employee engagement survey. Employers are judged across a six-step framework that includes reward and recognition, instilling pride, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing and job satisfaction.

E.On was named the Best Place to Work for UK 16 to 34-year-olds due to its commitment to create an inclusive and purpose-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on continuous learning and skills development, as well as its inclusive, forward-thinking, and purpose-driven workplace.

The top five very big organisations, with more than 2,000 employees, are:

  3. David Lloyd Clubs
  4. E.On UK
  5. EDF UK

The top five big organisations, with 250-1,999 employees, are:

  1. Champneys
  2. Clarion
  3. Culinera
  4. Dakota Hotels
  5. Dorchester Collection UK Hotels

The top five medium-sized organisations, with 50-249 employees, are:

  1. Aligra
  2. Attwaters Solicitors
  3. Carrington West
  4. Hall Brown Family Law
  5. Imex Group

The top five small organisations, with 10-49 employees, are:

  1. Fastwarm Underfloor Heating
  2. Fertifa
  3. Iconic Smiles
  4. Joss Search
  5. Legal for Landlords

Jon Yeomans, business editor of The Sunday Times, said: “This year’s Best Places to Work have each brought clever and inventive ideas to bear: whether entrusting every employee with a company credit card, introducing suggestion schemes with a cash prize or simply training staff sensibly so they feel empowered and enthused about their jobs.”
