Healthy snacks manufacturer Warp Snacks has introduced an electric vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice scheme for its workforce.
The organisation has a factory in Nuneaton, with around 250 manufacturing and 80 office employees, and a brand hub in London with 60 staff.
The salary sacrifice scheme, which is provided by fleet management and leasing firm Fleet Alliance, was launched last month and is part of the employer’s people and planet goals.
The scheme is available to around 130 eligible staff, including those on the people, IT, operations team, product development, technical, sales and marketing teams.
Employees can choose from a range of electric cars with cost-effective rates, from brands such as Polestar, Volkswagen and Kia. They can identify and order new EVs through a dedicated portal, while also benefitting from early termination insurance to avoid bills for unpaid rentals should they leave their roles within the three-year rental period.
When introducing the scheme, Warp Snacks provided a special EV launch meeting for interested employees. The aim of the scheme was to provide a greater choice of benefits while helping to meet environmental goals.
Eleanor Sheehan, part of the people team at Warp Snacks, said: “We’re always looking at ways to introduce new and exciting benefits for our teams. The decision to implement a salary sacrifice car scheme was ongoing when I joined last August, so I picked up the project quite late in the game and have been responsible for its implementation.
“I was keen to find a provider that could address my concerns, which were mostly around good customer service and support. Fleet Alliance fits the bill perfectly. There have been lots of requests for access to the scheme portal from many areas, and we have installed charging units in our car park to help encourage uptake of EVs.”
