EXCLUSIVE: Food provider Bakkavor Group, which employs 19,000 staff across 39 sites in the UK, US and China, has launched a discounts package for its 17,000 UK-based employees via engagement specialist Xexec’s voluntary benefits portal.

The new offering, which launched on 1 October 2018, gives employees access to over 3,000 discounts, including vouchers for lifestyle and health and wellbeing products, as well as cash back and shopping cards at a range of retailers.

Rob Marsh, head of reward and engagement at Bakkavor, said: “We were hugely impressed with the professional look and feel of Xexec’s portal, the number of discounts on offer and the fact that the portal can be easily accessed by staff working in factories across the country.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the huge range of benefits that our staff can take advantage of.”

The online portal can be accessed via employees’ mobile devices, and replaces a previous platform.

Jacqueline Benjamin, co-founder of Xexec, said: “Bakkavor is the latest major UK employer to adapt our voluntary benefits portal and it’s a pleasure to have them on board.“

The new package forms part of a broader employee engagement strategy for Bakkavor, which incorporates a number of employee engagement forums, a wellbeing app and a range of benefits.

The launch of the new scheme was timed in autumn to maximise the benefit for employees in the run-up to Christmas. It has been communicated to employees via a range of marketing posters and roadshows to ensure employees without work computers would be made aware of the package available to them.

Adding to its efforts to ensure that the benefits portal is available to as many employees as possible, Bakkavor has recently launched free wifi for employees, including those who are factory-based.
