Winner: McDonald’s Restaurants - Olympic Champion Crew
The judges were looking for a motivation strategy that successfully used incentives or motivational rewards to help drive employee performance, engagement or retention.
McDonald’s Restaurants built on its long association with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as an existing ‘employee of the month’ recognition scheme, to create a unique motivation programme around the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The judges applauded McDonald’s for its strategy and the way in which it embraced its role in the Games. They felt that it not only showed a commitment to its recognition scheme, but that it also displayed outstanding innovation, deeming it a clear winner.
The judges said: “McDonald’s seized the moment, built on the structure it already had and delivered something to remember for a lifetime. It really thought about its staff, not just about its profits - truly innovative.”
The winner said: “2,500 employees were able to work at the Olympics, stay in hotels and be part of the whole Olympic spirit.”
