BP, EDF Energy and Microsoft are among the employers that have access to a new health and wellbeing programme.
The Healthy for Life programme is provided by the employers’ food service and facilities management partner, Aramark.
It combines food and nutrition with exercise, mental health and prevention of illness to promote health awareness in UK workplaces.
Each month, the programme will have new food focuses backed by leaflets, recipe cards and point of sale information.
Employees will also have access to monthly awareness topics on issues such as heart health and mental health awareness, which will be communicated using health fairs and guest speaker visits.
Candice West, health and wellbeing manager at Aramark, said: “A robust employee wellbeing programme doesn’t just improve employee health, energy and performance.
”It also brings commercial benefits through increasing staff engagement, helping to attract and retain the best people, and reducing staff absence.
“Healthy for Life is more than a one-off healthy eating promotion of the type you normally see at the start of the year. It’s an ongoing initiative that covers not just food issues, such as weight management and nutrition, but also broader wellbeing issues from illness prevention and physical exercise to sound mental health.”
