Engineering and technology firm SES has appointed Amy Shaw as its new HR director.

Reporting directly to the managing director, Shaw will sit on both the SES governance and strategy boards, helping to drive the organisation’s people agenda during its next phase of growth.

With more than 20 years of strategic and operational HR experience, Shaw has a track record of shaping high performance, values-driven cultures within complex, technology-led and safety critical environments.

She has worked in organisational transformation, leadership capability development, hybrid workforce strategy, and embedding inclusive, resilient cultures that support both wellbeing and long-term growth. She has also completed the Disruptive HR Chief People Officer Programme.

Previously, Shaw was people and culture director at property and development lender Roma Finance. Her earlier career includes eight years with Laing O’Rourke (Construction and Crown House Technologies), and 11 years with global design and engineering consultancy Arup, where she delivered large-scale people initiatives across diverse project and operational teams.

Shaw said: “SES has an exciting future ahead, and I’m thrilled to be joining at such a pivotal time. I’m passionate about creating environments where people can thrive, feel included, and bring their best every day. I look forward to working with teams across SES to support our growth and strengthen our culture even further.”

Rob Clifford, executive managing director at SES, added: “We are delighted to welcome Amy to SES as our new HR director. Her breadth of experience, energy and vision will be instrumental as we continue to deliver our ambitious strategy across the organisation. Amy brings deep expertise in building inclusive, high performing cultures, and I look forward to working closely with her as she helps shape the next chapter of SES.”
