Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK has appointed Abigail Fisher to the newly created role of chief people officer.
Fisher will join the firm in late February as part of its strategic leadership team. She will help shape a people experience that fuels its high-performance, future-focused culture built on clarity, curiosity and care. This is to ensure the firm remains a destination where people go to grow, thrive and realise their potential.
She has 20 years of experience in strategic human resources and organisational transformation both in the UK and across multiple diverse international markets. Fisher has also developed people strategies that have driven growth across her previous firms and increased diverse representation across partnerships and leadership positions.
Fisher joins from Eversheds Sutherland, where she spent the past 12 years in senior HR leadership roles, most recently as HR director.
Having started her career in professional services at Grant Thornton in 2010, she is experienced in helping high-performing professional services partnerships thrive and creating environments where people can excel.
Fisher said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to Grant Thornton, a firm that has always held a special place in my career. This is an exciting time of growth and transformation, and I look forward to working with our talented teams to create an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can thrive.”
Malcolm Gomersall, chief executive officer at Grant Thornton UK, added: “Abigail’s appointment marks an important step in our journey to strengthen our culture and further enhance our people experience. Her experience and passion for people will help us build on what makes Grant Thornton a great place to work while modernising our operations to meet our clients’ evolving needs.”
