Pinterest enables staff to work abroad for up to three months

Pinterest Social media platform Pinterest has introduced a benefit that allows eligible full-time staff members to spend up to three months working outside of their country of employment, over a rolling 12-month period.

Full-time staff who have been at the business for at least six months can work outside of the country where they are employed for up to 90 days over the course of year as part of Pinterest’s PinFlex work model, effective from 1 July. Those who have been employed for less than six months may work outside of their country of employment for up to 30 days in total.

Pinterest said that allowing employees to broaden their perspectives in this way supports its global staff, both at a technological and human level, and will enable it to deliver on its mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love.

The business introduced this policy after it listened to feedback shared by employees, adding flexibility in order to empower staff to do their most impactful and inspired work.

Becca Dealy, technical recruiter, product at Pinterest, said: “I am so looking forward to taking advantage of this benefit by planning an exciting trip that I have been dreaming about, but I have never had the opportunity to take. I’m thrilled to be able to truly see and travel a country, and still do the day job that I love.”
