Retailer Currys has introduced mental health and wellbeing support for its 15,000 employees.
Through a partnership with retail industry charity the Retail Trust, Currys employees will have access to a range of wellbeing resources, such as counselling for themselves, household relatives, and a specialist service for young people, as well as financial aid and 24-hour support from the trust’s wellbeing helpline. Free training and online tools will also help employees deal with abuse at work.
The organisation will additionally be able to access the Retail Trust’s happiness dashboard, a generative AI-powered platform that has been designed to identify, track and respond to wellbeing trends, identify mental health pressures and evaluate the effectiveness of its support strategies.
Currys’ managers will receive continuing professional development (CPD) accredited training to support their teams and receive more insight to better protect their teams’ wellbeing.
Currys introduced the support in order to create happier and healthier workplaces in its stores and offices across the UK.
Paula Coughlan, chief people, communications and sustainability officer at Currys, said: “I’m really proud to share that we’ve launched a new wellbeing partnership with the Retail Trust, which provides all employees, and everyone in their household, with access to a significantly broader range of wellbeing support than ever before. It’s another meaningful step forward and builds on the culture of care, trust and support across Currys. My hope is that this makes a real difference for our employees and their families, whenever life throws something their way.”
Currys’ employee benefits package also includes a bonus, a staff discount, a pension scheme, flexible benefits, share plans, and health and wellbeing benefits, as well as investment in training and development to equip staff with skills for life.
