Just over a third (36%) of respondents think that employers will need to offer at-retirement support to their staff in the future, according to the Employee Benefits/Close Brothers Pensions research 2014.

The research, which surveyed 216 respondents in September 2014, also found that 30% of respondents are in the throes of considering how at-retirement support will evolve in the coming years, while 24% think it will take time for employers to boost their efforts given the relatively young demographics of their workforce.

Just under two thirds (62%) of respondents do not have any staff nearing or at retirement in the next 12 months, with 62% expecting 1-5% of their workforce in the next year.

More than half of respondents (57%) expect 6-10% of their staff to retire within five years.
