Hackney Council launches self-service HR system

Hackney Council has added a self-service element to its HR system so that employees can access HR information and services that include online payslips and expenses.

Following a pilot, council employees are able to use an email address to access their own details and receive their payslips electronically. This offering is being extended to expenses, the ability to book holidays online, as well as other HR processes.

Malcolm Aldis, managing director at Northgate HR, which provides the system, said: “Hackney Council has embraced what an e-HR system can offer, making their HR processes work efficiently – serving their staff so that they can serve the borough.”

The council has worked with Northgate HR since 2003, when it implemented a new HR system. The new contract is for Northgate HR’s integrated HR and payroll solution, ResourceLink.
