South Essex College has introduced an online mental health platform to support the wellbeing of its 1,000 employees.
The new partnership with mental health service Togetherall, will provide staff with a free platform to access mental health support. The service is anonymous and is available 24/7 to both students and employees at the college.
The new offering is part of South Essex College's mental health strategy, dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of its staff by providing the right training and guidance. This service will additionally help employees who have been struggling with their wellbeing during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
After filling in a self-assessment form, employees that access the platform will receive support from trained professionals on what help they are best suited to access. There are also self-guided courses that participants can access to learn more about mental health at their own pace.
Jane Belcher, head of safeguarding at South Essex College, said: “Bringing Togetherall in as a service for all our staff and students is a huge boost for our wellbeing agenda at the college. We know that mental health is not nine to five and being able to offer this 24/7 support network that will fit around the lives of students and staff is a big step forward in our support services.”
“The range of resources and support from Togetherall is fantastic and there is something for everyone. We recognise as a college that having a range of different services and contact points for our students and staff will support mental health and wellbeing in the long term, so I am proud that we now offer an online service alongside our strong face to face service within college.”
