National Deaf Children’s Society

The National Deaf Children’s Society has launched cancer support to its 270 employees.

The charity’s employees will now be able to access a range of assistance for their own needs and their loved ones, provided by specialist cancer support service Reframe Cancer.

This includes expert advice and emotional support through dedicated cancer nurse specialists to provide information and guidance throughout the illness, a wide range of online resources and informative materials on cancer awareness and preventative measures, and a cancer support manager to help with chase appointments, transportation to appointments or return-to-work planning.

The benefits recognise the significant impact a cancer diagnosis can have on individuals and their families. By offering cancer support, the National Deaf Children’s Society aims to highlight its commitment to supporting employees during challenging times.

Idris Patel, senior HR advisor at the National Deaf Children’s Society, said: “We’re incredibly proud to partner with Reframe Cancer to provide this vital benefit to our staff. This innovative move by the National Deaf Children’s Society demonstrates an increasing commitment to employee wellbeing and specifically, tackling the growing concern of cancer among working age people, the pressure on the NHS healthcare system and its impact on employees and the workplace.

The National Deaf Children’s Society, which is a disability confident employer, also offers its employees death in service worth three times' salary, a season ticket loan, 25 days of annual leave and a sick pay scheme that increases with service.
