Hyatt’s luxury hotel Andaz London Liverpool Street has appointed Jeanne Aikman (pictured) as director of human resources in order to further strengthen its team and continue its reputable employee standards.
Aikman’s role will include overseeing the attraction, development and retainment of talent across all departments, the day-to-day activities of the HR division and focusing on her teams’ wellbeing and development.
She will be responsible for upholding a people-focused culture, and policies that are reflected in the Hyatt World of Care initiative, which is committed to advancing care for employees through diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Aikman has more than a decade of experience as a hospitality and HR professional, with brands such as Corinthia, Melia and Shangri-La, which she helped to open at the Shard.
The appointment follows Andaz London launching its campaign #BeWhoYouAre, which aims to highlight the hotel’s value of authentic self-expression for everyone, including its employees, who have not been required to wear uniforms for several years.
Aikman said: “Joining the Andaz London team marks another significant milestone in my journey. This is an incredible hotel, which is already renowned for its exceptional HR division, and I feel honoured to play a part in its unique story. My main goal more than anything is to create an environment where colleagues feel comfortable, happy and, most of all, heard in the workplace.”
Mario Flanagan, general manager at Andaz London, added: “We are delighted to welcome Jeanne Aikman into the Andaz London team. In this area of London, we’re all about creativity, expression and zero barriers, three things that we want our employees to embody at Andaz London; our award-winning HR department plays a vital role in this. We believe that Jeanne is the right person to continue and support these high standards.”
