European intellectual property firm Haseltine Lake has launched a year-long global health and wellbeing programme for its 144 employees.
The new initiative, HL Well!, includes a series of wellbeing challenges and access to health resources designed to help employees manage their health and wellbeing.
Each month of the programme will focus on a different theme relating to staying well at work. This began with a ‘let’s get moving’ theme, which was supported by the provision of pedometers, and an inter-team competition to encourage staff to move about the office, make greater use of the stairs, take part in standing meetings and go for a walk at lunchtime.
Subsequent themes will include back and core strength, healthy eating, and stress management.
The programme is available to staff across the organisation’s offices in London, Bristol, Munich and The Hague.
Lesley Evans, chief executive at Haseltine Lake, said: “The ideas for HL Well! came from an employee consultation last year. Our [employees] care about their own health and wellbeing, and we want to show that we do too.
“HL Well! has been designed as a year-long programme to support workplace wellbeing in a fun and engaging way, to maintain good awareness and spark a continuing debate within our business about ways to stay energised, motivated and healthy in the office. By introducing some team activities and some inter-team competitions, we hope to make it easy and enjoyable for people to get involved.”
