Business intelligence organisation Euromonitor International held a health and wellbeing week across 10 of its global operating locations for its 1,264 employees.

The health and wellness week took place between 11 and 16 September for staff in Bangalore, Cape Town, Dubai, London, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Vilnius, while the organisation’s Chicago office is hosting its health and wellbeing week between 18 and 22 September 2017.

The health and wellbeing event was designed to promote country-specific initiatives to help staff improve their overall health and wellbeing, featuring activities based around keeping fit, healthy eating, mental health, and work-life balance.

It was also used to promote the health and wellbeing-related benefits Euromonitor International offers to its employees, including subsidised gym membership, free fruit, and on-site classes and social activities. It was also intended to help the organisation achieve its targets against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, part of the organisation’s commitment as a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact.

During the week, Euromonitor's employees could participate in a range of activities. Staff in Sydney (pictured} could take part in lunchtime yoga and meditation sessions, while employees in Dubai and Vilnius were able to participate in laughter therapy and laughter yoga classes. In Vilnius, staff could also partake in a charity table football match, in Bangalore employees could participate in mindfulness activities, in Cape Town and Singapore massage and pamper sessions were on offer and in Bangalore, Chicago and Tokyo employees were provided with healthy lunches. In Chicago, staff can also take part in walking challenges.

In London, Euromonitor International partnered with related charities on initiatives for staff, for example, mental health charity Sane held a workshop on stress and mental health, while sport employment charity Sport 4 Life UK ran a smoothie and bike event. Ten London employees also completed an obstacle course race to raise £1,000 for brain injury charity Headway.

Lisa Atamian, corporate social responsibility (CSR) manager at Euromonitor International, said: “At Euromonitor, we recognise the benefits of a healthy work-life balance and we want our CSR programme to make a real difference. A health and wellness week is necessary for the workforce, because we want to empower our employees with opportunities to improve mind, spirit and body. The aim is to make a real difference to what charitable organisations can achieve, and be able to change people’s lives for the better.”
