PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), NHS employers and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) have been recognised as three of the best employers for equality and inclusion.
The virtual ENEI Awards held 8 July 2020, saw 25 businesses win accolades across 20 categories and a further 22 entries being highly commended for their efforts.
PWC was named the best private sector employer for equality and inclusion and was shortlisted for Team of the Year, Advancing Social Mobility in the Workplace and Innovative Ways of Working categories.
The overall winner for the best public sector employer for equality and inclusion was Financial Ombudsman Service which also received an accolade for Employee Network Group of the Year, while North East London NHS Foundation Trust won the award for Disability Confident as well as commendations for Inclusive Culture and Innovative Ways of Working.
The ENEI Awards acknowledges the commitment of organisations in achieving diverse and inclusive workplaces, and celebrates the teams and individuals who have been making steps to improve equality and inclusion in the workplace.
Leading organisations for equality and inclusion are recognised by ENEI's benchmarking system, looking at how the employer provides quality advice, benchmarking training, events and services. It also takes into account how they support employers to develop innovative solutions, offer access to legal advice through the employment cycle, deliver research-led training and consultancy services, and facilitate change through leadership and engagement.
Denise Keating, chief executive at ENEI, said: "It is encouraging to see that despite economic and political uncertainty organisations are still prepared to lead the way in doing the right thing, not the easy thing, and are seeing the business benefits of doing so."
