Technology organisations Google and Microsoft, media services provider Netflix and The Walt Disney Company are among the organisations that have been recognised in the Employer of Choice RepTrak study, compiled by reputation measurement and management business Reputation Institute.
The inaugural rankings, which analyse organisations’ ‘willingness to work for’ scores, is based on more than 230,000 individual ratings collected from the general public in the first quarter of 2018.
Stephen Hahn-Griffiths, chief reputation officer at Reputation Institute, said: “While organisations have traditionally focused on workplace metrics to attract and retain employees, our analysis shows the most important drivers of intent to work for [an organisation] go beyond that.
“To become an employer of choice, [an organisation] should be innovative, deliver a high-quality product experience at a good value, be ethical, environmentally conscious and positively mindful of societal influence, in addition to having an appealing leadership.”
Other organisations featuring in the top 10 include car manufacturer BMW Group, technology organisation Intel and The Lego Group.
The top 10 employers recognised in the Employer of Choice RepTrak study, in alphabetical order, are:
- 3M
- BMW Group
- Bosch
- Canon
- Intel
- The Lego Group
- Microsoft
- Netflix
- The Walt Disney Company
Hahn-Griffiths added: “Recruitment is increasingly challenging and highly competitive, with low unemployment and high employee turnover levels observed globally.
“The employer rulebook is quickly shifting. To be relevant as an employer of choice today, [organisations] need to be progressive with a moral conscience.”
