Sarita Coleman, head of reward at the RSPCA, will present a session about employee engagement on the first day of Employee Benefits Live 2023.
Titled Employee benefits: staff engagement is key, the session will cover employee benefits and the importance of staff engagement, how not to assume that all employees know what is available or relevant to them, how to look inwardly at existing offerings to avoid duplication and confusion, and that communication is king when it comes to maximising offerings and take up.
“I'll be discussing how we gained feedback from our colleagues about what they already knew about our benefits, what they thought of the current offering and what they thought of potential new benefits,” said Coleman.
She hopes delegates attending the session will take away the idea to look at what they already have, as the RSPCA found that some of its existing benefits also cover areas such as reduced gym membership or discounted vehicle breakdown services.
“I also hope people will be inspired not to make assumptions, as ones we made about what we thought colleagues wanted was actually totally different. Communication is important too, as some of our colleagues didn’t even know about some of the benefits we already have, so improving internal communications and promoting offerings is key,” she said.
The session will take place on Tuesday 3 October at 11.05am as part of the conference’s engagement, motivation and recognition stream.
Employee Benefits Live 2023 will take place on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October 2023 at ExCeL London. It is Europe’s largest dedicated reward and benefits event and will offer reward, compensation, benefits and HR professionals the opportunity to learn from, and be inspired by, leading figures in the industry.
