Ellipse and Thomsons Online Benefits have completed development of a data interface that allows automatic processing of group risk benefits.
The interface enables group life, group critical illness and group income protection benefits to be integrated with the Thomsons Darwin technology platform.
When using the interface, each time a user runs their payroll the member data is updated and the cost of group risk benefits cover is calculated for that specific month. The system is designed to allow the user to pay for the exactly the cover they have for the month rather than dealing with annual premium adjustments and to reduce administration burden.
Brenden Mielke, product director at Thomsons, said: “Now the project has been completed, we have a unique proposition to offer employers that will greatly simplify how their group risk benefits are handled, and more importantly gives them certainty over managing their group risk costs. Once the system has been linked to payroll, it largely runs itself.”
