Health, fitness and wellness group David Lloyd Clubs has introduced a mobile-first communication platform for its global workforce of more than 10,000 employees to foster a connected culture and sense of community.

The DLConnect app, which is provided by Unily, will be rolled out to the whole organisation this summer. Through the app, David Lloyd Clubs workers, who are spread across 133 clubs in nine countries, will be able to access news, critical communications and culture-building initiatives relevant to their role, location and interests that help to streamline employee experiences and improve productivity.

Its multi-lingual features have been designed to create a positive working environment for all employees. The app will also enable two-way communication and create target messaging of groups so everyone feels informed and engaged, while the reward and recognition function can help to maximise the staff experience by celebrating and recognising them throughout their career.

It additionally includes push notifications, in-app user customisation, social media features such as likes, comments, forms, polls and quizzes, offline reading capabilities, ideation portals and in-app repository search. The app can also be integrated with other business applications and systems.

The platform is part of David Lloyd Clubs’ commitment to ensuring the highest levels of team engagement, and fostering growth and development.

Juliett Cattermole, group people director at David Lloyd Clubs, said: “Our team members are at the heart of everything we do at David Lloyd Clubs. That’s why we wanted to provide our people with the ability to connect to each other and David Lloyd Clubs. Feeling engaged and valued is really important to us regardless of where our team members work, the role they do, or the country they are based in.

“David Lloyd Clubs has always been committed to fostering an inclusive workforce and creating a place where everyone belongs, and that now extends to being able to provide all our international teams with a new raft of features, through the new DLConnect app. We’re excited to partner with Unily to create DLConnect and unite our people across the globe. I’m confident that the launch will be the beginning of an extraordinary journey that will see us personalise our team members’ experience.”
