Channel 4 and global investment bank Citi have been shortlisted for Best benefits to support reproductive health at the Employee Benefits Awards 2023.
This award was newly introduced for 2023, to recognise the most effective benefits strategy to help and support staff going through fertility treatment or pregnancy, regardless of gender.
Judges looked at whether employers had introduced a new range of supportive initiatives, such as paid time off to attend medical appointments, provided a carefully targeted benefit aimed at tackling a specific issue, as well as information or advice, or brought in external providers and access to specialists for counselling services or emotional support.
Those that introduced training, employee workshops, support for employees who need an abortion, paid time off for employees who experience miscarriage or unsuccessful IVF treatment and infertility support, as well as revising their healthcare benefits provision in order to ensure it addresses the fertility or pregnancy-related needs of staff, were also looked upon favourably.
Employee Benefits announced the shortlist for 2023’s 23 award categories earlier this month, which includes two other brand new accolades: Best public sector benefits and Best benefits to support work-life balance and hybrid working.
The Employee Benefits Awards, which is in its 21st year and celebrates individuals and teams displaying excellence through their reward and benefits strategies, will be held at the Honourable Artillery Company, London on Friday 23 June.
The daytime event will include a drinks reception, three-course meal, entertainment and the chance to network with industry professionals. The after-party will include live music, dodgems, a carousel and a big wheel in the venue’s private grounds.
