EXCLUSIVE: Caerphilly County Borough Council has launched an eyecare scheme for its 4,500 employees using a series of roadshows to communicate with staff.
During the roadshows, which were held at the end of October across various locations, employees were able to view a range of glasses and have their vision screened onsite by opticians from provider Specsavers.
The contract is part of a framework agreement that is also available to 14 other councils in the area.
Donna Jones, health, safety and occupational health manager at Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “The number of Specsavers’ stores across the county makes access to eyecare easy for our employees.
“The roadshows were an effective and enjoyable way to launch the programme.”
