Something for the weekend: Recruitment business Deel has started the hunt for its first social media nomad, who will travel across Australia and New Zealand creating content while living the 'van life'.
In a vehicle dubbed the Deel Mobeel, the lucky recruit will be required to showcase the ins and outs of truly working from anywhere, while documenting life and work on the road.
The opportunity is ideal for those already steeped in the sleeper van scene, or who think this could be the life for them, and who want to spend six months exploring the diverse delights down under, such as Wellington, Australia’s ‘90-Mile Straight’ and Jervis Bay’s white sand, among many other sights.
The successful recruit will have to regularly create and upload content related to the van journey on social media, demonstrate the range of capabilities available through the Deel platform, host meet-ups with other remote workers, and interview with Deel clients for testimonials.
The firm has asked for applicants with more than three years of experience as social media managers, influencers, or brand ambassadors, who have created content for cross-cultural audiences, and have strong English speaking and writing capabilities, the ability to manage priorities and switch focus accordingly, and a love for learning new things and sharing with others.
It will also happily accept applications from people with a special connection to the regions through ancestors or a love of the land, or even from Lord of the Rings superfans.
Deel has offered the successful social media nomad £2,600 ($5,000 New Zealand Dollars) per month to create content and be the face of the Deel Mobeel, a Deel account and card, an all-expense paid flight to New Zealand and from Australia, a weekly stipend for food, gas and parking, and flexible working hours.
Here at Employee Benefits, it is clear that working from anywhere is going from strength to strength, and this sounds like a 'bonza' opportunity to really embrace the trend...
