Just under a third of respondents do not feel proud of their organisation, according to research by Edenred.

The annual global Edenred-Ipsos Barometer report, which surveyed 14,400 employees internationally, also showed that 30% of respondents want more support when they reach the end of their careers.

The research also found:

  • 60% of respondents enjoy coming to work in the morning.
  • 70% of respondents find their job interesting.
  • 74% of respondents are satisfied with their work-life balance.
  • 26% of respondents feel their employer is not doing enough to promote wellbeing at work.
  • 32% of respondents expect better training and skills development.
  • 94% of respondents believe leadership is an important quality in their manager, with 95% feeling honesty and fairness are vital, 96% stating the ability to listen as essential and 95% advocating trust as the most important trait.

Andy Philpott (pictured), sales and marketing director at Edenred, says: “Whilst UK [employees] would appear to be relatively happy at work, organisations must not become complacent.

“Incentives and rewards play a crucial role in [employees] feeling motivated and positive about their jobs, their management and their [organisations]. Employers need to recognise this in a bid to motivate and retain top talent.”
