Employee Benefits Live and Personnel Today webinar, Ethnicity and disability pay gaps: Ready to report? is now available to watch on demand.

The 60-minute webinar was broadcast on Thursday 17 July at 11.00am.

Rob Moss, editor of Personnel Today and Debbie Lovewell-Tuck, editor of Employee Benefits, were joined by an expert panel that included employers that have got ahead of the curve and voluntarily reported their ethnicity and disability pay gap data, as well as a legal representative who explained the legal requirement details and any pitfalls to avoid.

These were Ranjit Dhindsa, head of employment at law firm Fieldfisher, and Aaron Lloyd, total reward lead for Birmingham City Council.

The conversation explored the government’s intention to legislate mandatory ethnicity and disability pay reporting. It is now in the process of collating responses to its consultation on how best to implement the measures.

The panel also discussed what employers need to know in preparation for the introduction of this legislation, what data they will need to collate, how this can be best collected and reported, and what challenges they might experience.

The webinar additionally explored what is likely to be covered in the ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting requirements, what the ethical and privacy considerations are, practical tips on explaining the process to employees, and what action to take when pay gaps are identified.

Viewers were able to submit questions to the panel throughout the event.

Employee Benefits Live, an event for organisational directors, senior managers, HR professionals, and reward and benefits specialists, will take place at London ExceL on 1-2 October 2025.
