The judges were looking for an employer that has made a concerted effort to encourage workplace saving; also a strategy that enabled staff to take a holistic approach to saving to accommodate their short-, medium- and long-term financial needs.
Hymans Robertson links its pension scheme to its corporate individual savings account to give staff a range of savings options. It also offers staff in financial difficulties a year-long pensions holiday to encourage them not to opt out of the scheme.
The judges said: “This is a well-thought-out strategy. The approach is holistic and focused on short-, medium- and long-term savings. It offers an interesting range of products.”
The winner said: “I think the judges recognised the innovation we put in place for our workplace savings strategies.”
