Employee Benefits Live 2015: Multiple flexible benefit plan windows help to boost employee engagement, according to Donna Nind (pictured), reward director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Ricoh Europe.
As part of her presentation at Employee Benefits Live 2015, entitled ‘Strategies for boosting the take-up of flexible benefits schemes’, she said: “To be truly engaging flex needs to be more than a once-a-year activity.”
Ricoh launched a flexible benefits plan in 2013 to harmonise its benefits after a number of mergers and acquisitions, and relaunched it in April 2015 after implementing a new flex platform.
The plan features monthly selection windows and is supported by a quarterly newsletter, which updates staff on available benefits and any plan changes.
Nind advises fellow employers considering implementing flex plans to first consider their workforce demographic, gender profile and salary range across their entire workforce.
Nind added: “These factors will influence which benefits to offer and how to communicate them to staff.”
